Arsenic Removal Project, Ontario, Canada
Merit provided Construction Management services for CH2M at on of Goldcorp's mine sites.

Arsenic is one of the most changeling pollutants to remove from water. An Actiflo filter coupled with an Actadyne thickener was employed to perform this task. The filter uses a ballasted flocculent process which provides a larger surface area for arsenic to cling and the micro sand provide weight to assist in settling of the particulates. The thickener removes excess water from the sludge. The plant is able to treat 30 cubic meters of water per hour.
