We are extremely pleased with how our phase of the work was executed with a dedicated and experienced team working with diligent contractors in an Open Shop environment. Nevada Copper Provides Update on Feasibility Study & Engages Merit for Pre-Construction Services
Merit is extremely pleased to be associated with the Pumpkin Hollow Copper project in Nevada. The initial intent is to construct two shafts and develop an underground mine and associated processing plant. Shortly thereafter, project will expand to involve an open pit and a sizeable mineral processing facility distinct from the initial plant. Merit will be applying it's wealth of previous and very current experience in the development of copper projects to support this new endeavour.

Copper Mountain Project Nears Completion

The overall schedule for the project remains unchanged with construction expected to be completed by the end of April 2011, commissioning of equipment is scheduled to occur during May 2011, and full production scheduled to be achieved by the end of June 2011.

700 tonne Copper Mountain mining shovel unveiled
The first of two massive PC 8000 hydraulic shovels was the reason for all the fuss last week. It is a twin to another one that will arrive and be assembled by early 2011. Together these two shovels which travelled by train, boat and semi-trailer are part of an impressive equipment package through Komatsu straight from Düsseldorf, Germany. Merit continues to provided construction management services including on-site management, contracts administration and scheduling, for the is 35,000 tpd open pit mine.
