Position:Purchasing & Expediting Manager Location: Overseas and North America
The Purchasing/Expediting Manager shall coordinate the purchasing of all the non-capital equipment and materials required to construct the project with direction of the CM Team and EP Team. They will follow up on the issuance of Purchase Orders on a weekly basis to monitor and track the deliver of material and equipment. They will complete the administrative requirements for receiving and reporting on the deliveries on a timely basis and coordination with the on-site warehousing personnel.
DUTIES
Assists supplier engineering to ensure that Owner's requirements are included in requisite drawings
Coordinate and resolve tax issues
Ensure contractors' suppliers are providing goods, services and fabricated items at fair and reasonable conditions by spot checking purchase requisitions and obtaining occasional independent quotations
Provide additional QC/QA control to meet project requirements such as safety, environmental and energy consumption
Review material requests and requirements for the project
Prepare Request for Quotations (RFQ), review bids and prepare recommendations for award
Identify suitable and cost effective suppliers and vendors
Issue copies of PO's and CO's:
Vendor
Owner
Project Accounting
Expeditor
Requisitioner
Log purchase orders
Coordinate transportation of large items
Coordinate drawing requirement for materials fabricated off-site
Coordinate equipment manuals receipt
Review recommendations for purchase
Prepare change orders to P.O.s
Expedite orders
Coordinate with contractors on delivery to site and load requirements
Update Expediting Report with current delivery information and ETA on other material on a weekly basis.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 15 years experience in purchasing and expediting in the mining industry. The applicant should have good people and management skills.
