Position:Project Coordinator Location: Overseas and North America
The Project Coordinator, in the absence of a Construction Engineer, will assume the responsibility as second in command to the Construction Manager during the Construction Manager's turnaround unless otherwise arranged. This person is responsible for all on site contract administration and coordination through the direction of CONSTRUCTION MANAGER.
DUTIES
Review with CONSTRUCTION MANAGER, Contractors progress on work,
Contract on time on budget
With view of potential change orders
Ensure that changes orders are documented
Administration of contracts:
Prepare and issue site instructions to contractor
Obtain, confirm and record daily contractor sheets
Collect and reconcile contractor quantities applicable for unit rates
Draft change orders and site instructions to contractor
Transmittals (drawing, reports, documents, etc.)
Prepare Recommendation Letters as required for Merit and owner approval, if not being done by H.O.
Prepare Issued for Review (IFR) and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing distribution forms
Review cost reports with Authorization for Expenditures (AFE's) and contract budgets
Process contracts documents and transmitting for approval to the Client.
Coordinate drawing distribution, document control and maintain record keeping for on site work
Ensure that appropriate drawings are issued for review, issued for construction including as-builts and drawing transmittals
Ensure that project secretary is correctly preparing and filing project documentation
Turnover documentation including permanent equipment, manuals, etc.
Issue requisitions as required
Coordinate with the Scheduler to update schedules in conjunction with contractor's progress.
Prepare estimates, quantity summaries, forms, etc. as required
Planning and coordinating annual and other statutory inspections such as fire protection at site and camp
Ensure that contractors perform weekly toolbox meetings.
Work and interact with operations as required
Work with Project Secretary to prepare and distribute daily and weekly reports and contributions to the monthly report, as required.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years experience in industrial construction including a minimum of 5 years the mining industry. The applicant should have good people and management skills, as well as a sense of urgency and organization.
